Our Story

One Dollar Shopper started as a home for Nigerian and African products in Canada. Today it is a general store as well, shipping brands people shop every day to Canada and the United States, with the African Market still first in our menu.

Where we started

How One Dollar Shopper began

One Dollar Shopper began as a store for Nigerian and African products in Canada: groceries like garri, rice and spices, fashion, hair and skin care, and arts and crafts. Those products are still here, in the African Market.

A general store too

Next to the African Market, the store now carries everyday brands in fashion, beauty, electronics, home, appliances and kids, from Gap and Adidas to Samsung and IKEA. Prices are in US dollars, Canadian shoppers also see them in Canadian dollars, and every order ships from Ontario.

Looking ahead

We are opening the store to more sellers, especially makers and brands from Nigeria and across Africa, so the African Market can grow alongside the everyday brands. If you make or sell products, you can open a shop.
